Appliance Warranties

Manufacturer's Warrranty

Appliance truckloads can come with full manufacturers warranty, partial manufacturers warranty, or no manufacturers warranty. You should ask what the warranty is on any appliance e truckload you are considering. Service work on modern appliances can be quite expensive. You don’t want upset customers writing bad things about your store regarding warranty issues on social media. You should think long and hard before considering the purchase of any appliance load without any manufacturer’s warranty.

Manufacturer’s warranty is highly desirable.

Manufacturers warranty usually covers breakdowns due to manufacturing defects and defective parts. Different parts are covered for different amounts of time.

Many appliance truckloads sold on auction sites have the manufacturer’s warranty voided by contract. It is usually stated in the listing. This applies to appliances from big box stores and those directly from the manufacturer.

Aftermarket Warranty

Aftermarket warranties have deductibles and restrictions making it difficult to get claims covered.  That’s one reason they are cheap.  Better than nothing but…

There are several companies that sell aftermarket warranties for major appliances.    Some of them are good for unsold/scratch and dent and customer returns.  These warranties are not the manufacturer’s warranties and can have deductibles and criteria that needs to be met before the company will pay a claim.  One of the most restrictive is the 30-day rule which states the company will not pay a claim until 30 days after the purchase of the appliance by your customer.  Most customers would be furious if they purchased a major appliance that broke down a few days after purchase and are told they need to wait 3 or 4 weeks to get a warranty repair that will have a deductible added on.

You are far better off with the manufacturer’s warranty.
